Following Sun Ra's death in 1993, Marshall Allen became the custodian of Ra's music. Having worked with Sun Ra since the late 1950s he set up the Arkestra and has continued to tour, spreading the vision and message of Sun Ra to this day. 2016 marked the 60th Anniversary of Sun Ra's birth, with the Arkestra performing at major festivals and a raft of European dates — this Nefertiti gig among them.
