Street People were known to an American audience, having made the R&B charts on the Vigor label — billed as a band from Detroit playing the Explosive Philadelphian Soul Sound. The irony being they actually hailed from New Jersey, a fact they could doubtless get away with in a distant market such as Sweden, and at a fee considerably lower than any Motown or Philly artist would have charged!
