Sonny Rollins : Peckham, 1965 — Limited Edition Print
Sonny's gig at the Walmer Castle took place on 17th January 1965 — almost certainly an additional South of the River date to his Ronnie Scott's appearance the following night, testament to the prodigious reputation the venue's jazz sessions had built. Rollins was joined by Stan Tracey on piano, Rick Laird on double bass and Ronnie Stephenson on drums. The same year he recorded his soundtrack to the classic Brit-flick Alfie, bringing him an audience far beyond Modern Jazz devotees.
