'Blues Parties' were house parties started by the newly arrived West Indian community in the 50s and 60s. A place to hear music from home not heard in mainstream clubs, it was also guaranteed entry to a party at a time when the 'colour bar' meant that non-white faces were not always welcome. Taking inspiration from lithograph printing of the 1960s, the design hopes to capture the spirit of these early parties.
