Jimmy Cliff : El Partido, 1966 — Limited Edition Print
This South London appearance comes from an extended UK residency for Cliff between August 1966 and the end of 1967, taking in shows at the West End's Whisky Au-Go-Go and legendary Northern clubs such as Manchester's Twisted Wheel and The Golden Torch in Tunstall. El Partido was heavily attended by a young Jamaican diaspora — welcomed to the UK to help rebuild its infrastructure after World War II — making it a perfect fit for Cliff. His breakthrough would come later with the soundtrack and star role in The Harder They Come, positioning him as Reggae's first major star and paving the way for Bob Marley.
