Street People were known to an American audience, having made the R&B charts on the Vigor label. Their reach to a European, let alone Swedish market, is highly conjectural — none of their records received any European releases at the time. It gets even more confusing as they billed as a band from Detroit playing the 'Explosive Philadelphian Soul Sound' and were in fact from New Jersey. A fact they could doubtless get away with in a market as distant as Sweden and a world before the internet. The gig however does demonstrates the enduring interest Gothenburg had in American Soul music.
