Formed in 1966 in Houston Texas the group signed with small record labels before being noticed by Gamble and Huff of Philadelphia International Records.

"I Can't Stop Dancing" and "Tighten Up" made them major recording stars. Both penned in '68, they never quite managed to reach those heights again. Top drawer proto-funk and in many ways paving the way for how Soul music would develop in the 1970s.
