In 1969 Fleetwood Mac was still very much in the early days of their journey. Original members Peter Green, John McVie, Mick Fleetwood had been recently augmented by Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan, and the band was just beginning to step away from the constraints of traditional blues towards more experimental sounds.
The show at Cue Club was a prefect platform. A beloved venue known for its intimate atmosphere, during the late 1960s and early 1970s it was a hotspot for both local and international talent and the evolving rock, blues, and psychedelic movements.
It was during these early years that the band began to solidify their identity as a live act. Their blend of blues, rock, and raw energy laid the foundation for what would eventually evolve into the colossus which was ‘mid-70’s Mac.’ But the heart of their sound has always been the pure, unfiltered blues played at the Cue Club in 1969.
