Was one of the lesser known but influential rap albums of 1992 that was full of revolutionary messages, Five Percenter ideology, a mixed brand of Egyptology with Islamic teachings, and unprecedented conscious Afrocentrism juxtaposed with socially conscious lyrics that was backed by the political rhetoric of lead rappers Professor X and Brother J. X Clan uses spoken word in the form of rap throughout the entire album.
Fans of intellectual rap will love this album because X Clan is like spoken word but with funk and rap for instrumentation backing. In fact this album is similar to what you would hear from conscious Afrocentric rap groups such as Poor Righteous Teachers, Brand Nubian, A Tribe Called Quest, Me Phi Me, and Public Enemy. An under appreciated gem.
