Benny's gutsy voice is similar to Syl Johnson, Johnnie Taylor and at times Al Green. This his only record from 1973 has been long in demand on both the modern and two step scenes. 'I Just Got To Know' is as two step classic, the title track, 'Second To None', 'and 'Stop Me' are modern favourites and there's lots of great mid tempo tracks and ballads like 'Absolutely Positively', 'Please Come Back' and 'Wont You Stay'. The full band led by Julius Brockington are on point throughout with great horns and organ . This is a great overlooked classic 70's soul album available widely for the first time.
