Born in Cambridge in 1946, Roger Keith 'Syd' Barrett was the primary songwriter, guitarist and original lead vocalist in (the first incarnation of) Pink Floyd. He formed the band in the mid-1960s with drummer Nick Mason, bassist Roger Waters and keyboard-player Richard Wright. With their groundbreaking, semi-improvised sets at the legendary UFO club in London's Tottenham Court Road, they became the prime movers of British psychedelia.

Syd left Pink Floyd in April 1968 and 'The Madcap Laughs' has long been recognised as a lost classic. Release in January 1970, it was recorded in two sessions, both at Abbey Road studios, and encompasses such classic as 'Terrapin,' 'Golden Hair' and so many more.

Our Grading Standards
We grade all vinyl using the Goldmine standard:
Mint (M): Perfect, unplayed condition.
Near Mint (NM): Nearly perfect with minimal signs of handling.
Very Good Plus (VG+): Shows light signs of play but plays with minimal surface noise. The most common grade for collectable vinyl.
Very Good (VG): Noticeable marks and some surface noise, but still an enjoyable listen.
Good (G): Heavy wear — for collectors only.

All records are graded visually and by play. Media and sleeve are graded separately.
