The Journey (Vinyl LP)

Deep spiritual middle eastern vibe featuring Abdullah Ibrahim's band at the time plus the cream of US avant-garde jazz musicians; Hamiet Bluiett (Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet), Don Cherry (Trumpet), John Betsch & Roy Brooks (Percussion) as well as legendary South African bassist Johnny Dyani. Featuring the track "Hajj (The Journey)", a 21 minute tour de force of modal improvisation based around a simple piano riff from Dollar Brand's sixties composition "Eighty-First Street" (as featured on Soul Jazz Records "Freedom Rhythm & Sound" compilation).

Our Grading Standards
We grade all vinyl using the Goldmine standard:
Mint (M): Perfect, unplayed condition.
Near Mint (NM): Nearly perfect with minimal signs of handling.
Very Good Plus (VG+): Shows light signs of play but plays with minimal surface noise. The most common grade for collectable vinyl.
Very Good (VG): Noticeable marks and some surface noise, but still an enjoyable listen.
Good (G): Heavy wear — for collectors only.

All records are graded visually and by play. Media and sleeve are graded separately.
