Tommy Löfgren ran the shop and mail order business Smokestack Blues - CDs & Books in Stockholm from 2000 to 2017. Based on this business, and as an active member of the Swedish Blues Association and a regular writer in their magazine Jefferson for many years, he has collected pictures, texts, interviews and other material. The book is a very broad exposé of over 50 years of the blues and contains lots of small reports or anecdotes from countless trips to the USA and visits to artists, record labels and juke joints, concerts and festivals. A lot of nostalgia, but also new trends in the blues, e.g. what is today called southern soul in the USA. Richly illustrated with over 450 photos and more.
