Rhythm & Blues and Soul music has always had a very audible presence on the dancefloors and venues of the city. The ground breaking G Club was a venue dedicated exclusively to Soul Music during the 1960’s, and playlists at the incredibly popular ‘Pop-In’ club was dominated by DJ Clem Dalton’s ‘exclusive’ Soul imports. Hip venues such as The Globe, Yaki-Da and Klubb Karl made it their business to make sure the latest Soul sounds were heard and this interest in rare, underground Soul sounds continued throughout the years, with respected Northern Soul and Rare Soul clubs such as On The Real side and Soulastaic ‘Keeping the Faith.’
This print bundle celebrated Sweden’s Soul city, including Lee Dorsey rarely know performance at The Globe club, The Folk Blues Festival gig at the palatial Konsethus, Street People at the 1789 and our exclusive Soul Tram print.
