This album contains two separate sets that were both performed before inmates at the Cook County Jail one day in 1972. Organist Jimmy McGriff and his quintet (with guitarists George Freeman and O'Donell Levy, bassist Mickey Bass and drummer Marion Booker, Jr.) performs his two-part "Freedom Suite," generating a great deal of audience participation.
The bars are a bit more musical on the scorching Jazz-funk outing. Highly recommended.
